Robert W. Roche, Chairman 

Robert Roche is Executive Chairman of the board of directors of Acorn International (NYSE: ATV). Since co-founding the company in 1998, Roche has grown Acorn into a leading media and branding company with an unparalleled track record of developing and marketing some of China’s best known consumer-branded products.  Jacob A. Fisch, President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Jacob A. Fisch is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Acorn. Mr. Fisch was previously Senior Advisor to Acorn from April 2014. Mr. Fisch’s background includes top executive roles with publicly-listed, global supply chain manager and consumer products giant Li & Fung Limited (HKSE: 494) from 2006 to 2010 and then with its controlling shareholder, the Fung Group, from 2010 to 2012. Such roles included Director of Corporate Development for the Fung Group, and Senior Vice President – General Counsel for Li & Fung Limited, where he was part of the core leadership team and global head of Legal responsible for Li & Fung’s then over 80 offices in over 40 countries. Mr. Fisch also co-founded leading Hong Kong venture firm, Nest, in 2010, and founded Mile Point Capital Partners in 2011. In 2013, Mr. Fisch also co-founded and became the non-executive Chairman of Dragon Law, a Hong Kong and Singapore based technology company. Prior to these roles and activities, Mr. Fisch was an attorney at leading international law firms in New York City, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Mr. Fisch has been a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York City, is a member of the Hong Kong-based Hong Kong Forum, affiliated with the Council on Foreign Relations, and is a member of the Executive Forum, a fifty-person forum for the most senior managers of multinational corporations headquartered in Asia. Mr. Fisch holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from Columbia University.


Mr. Martin Key, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Key is Acorn’s CFO. Mr. Key has held a variety of finance leadership roles in both China and the U.S. He is engaged by Roche Enterprises, Inc. and currently also serves as CFO of Cachet Hotel Group (Cachet), an international hospitality branding and management company which is also part of the Roche Enterprises, Inc. group of companies, and he holds shares of Cachet. Roche Enterprises, Inc. is owned by Acorn’s Executive Chairman, Mr. Robert Roche and Mr. Roche is the Executive Chairman and the majority shareholder of Cachet. Mr. Fisch is a shareholder and member of the Board of Directors of Cachet. The Company has brought Mr. Key on board as part of the establishment of the Roche Enterprises, Inc. (RE) Shared Services Center with the objective of providing superior back office support service to Acorn while reducing costs. Mr. Key will provide services as CFO to both Acorn and Cachet Hotel Group and will be supported by Mr. Aspen Bai, who is also engaged by Roche Enterprises, Inc. and has been appointed as Acting Financial Controller for Acorn in addition to his role as Financial Controller at Cachet.


Jan Lu, Vice President – Business Operations

Jan Lu (Lu Jie) is Vice President – Business Operations, responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the business, focusing, in particular, on driving the growth of our brands, media and content divisions. Her background includes experience in operations, business development (deal sourcing and execution) as well as government relations in China.  Prior to becoming Vice President – Business Operations in April 2016, Ms. Lu served as our General Manager – Media and Creative from September 2015 to March 2016. Prior to joining Acorn in September 2015, she was Vice President at Cachet Hotel Group, focused on Operations and Business Development from July 2013 to May 2015. Prior to Cachet, Ms. Lu was Junior Partner & General Manager at David Laris Creates (DLC) from August 2008 to June 2013, a Food & Beverage consultancy company, focusing on licensing, project management, and the operation of DLC, as well as various restaurants DLC invested in or managed. Ms. Lu graduated with a degree in International Finance in 1999 from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law.


Bethy Jie Wu, Vice President, Human Resources

Ms. Bethy Jie Wu is Vice President, Human Resources of Acorn. As a seasoned HR professional, Ms. Wu possesses extensive experience in the full spectrum of strategic human resource management as well as in talent and organization consulting. Prior to joining Acorn in August 2017, Ms. Wu worked in Canada for 10 years since 2007 taking a few HR and business leadership roles with several leading North American companies, such as Director of HR and Corporate Culture at Door Components Canada and Head of Circulation & Customer Service at The Successful Inventors Group. Before moving to Canada, Ms. Wu served as the HR Director for Asia Pacific Region based in Shanghai at Hewitt Associates from 2001 to 2006. She was also the China HR head at Dun & Bradstreet from 1998 to 2001 and at AIG from 1995 to 1998. As an active member of HRPA (Human Resources Professional Association) in Canada since 2013, Ms. Wu is a holder of CHRL (Certified Human Resources Leader) and CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional). She is also a certified MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) facilitator. Ms. Wu received her Master’s Degree in International Relations and Bachelor’s Degree in History both from Nanjing University. She also finished her one year research and studies at the Johns Hopkins University – Nanjing University Center for Chinese & American Studies.
